Search continues for missing Leitchville man

POLICE are appealing for public help to find missing Leitchville man Michael Allitt.

The 49-year-old father-of-two was last seen at a Gunbower-Pyramid Rd property in Gunbower about 4am on Saturday, February 22.

Allitt was driving a ute when he lost control and drove into Mount Hope Creek.

Police have been told Michael exited the vehicle and was last seen swimming in an unknown direction.

Police Search and Rescue, Airwing and SES volunteers continue to search the area today and hope he has found refuge on nearby land.

Allitt is described as 186cm tall, with a solid build, brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a t-shirt, grey Adidas track pants and Blundstone boots.

Investigators have released an image of Allitt in the hope someone may be able to provide information on his whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Allitt is urged to contact Echuca police on 5483 1500.
