New faces at Mathoura Public School

By Alex Gretgrix

IF YOU made your way to Mathoura Public School, you'd see two bright and shining new faces.

Courtney Joson and Thomas McIntyre have joined the ranks as new members of staff at the school.

Ms Joson will take on the role of year 5 literacy and extra-curricular teacher.

She brings with her a positive mind-set, a passion for student development and physical education and a determination to make a real and positive difference in the education of MPS students.

The drama and performing arts enthusiast has relocated to Mathoura from the big smoke of Sydney, a bit of a change needless to say.

"I look forward to teaching in a small rural school setting and becoming involved with the local community,” Ms Joson said.

Mr McIntyre, or Mr Mac as he is affectionately referred to by students is the new year 5/6 classroom teacher, has previously taught at Corowa South Public School.

Familiar with the charm of rural small schools, he was delighted to be named classroom teacher of MPS’s senior cohort.

“I am excited for what opportunities lie ahead at Mathoura Public School and plan to take pride in representing the school’s red and blue,” Mr McIntyre said.

He is a passionate sportsperson and physical educator who particularly enjoys basketball, cricket and NRL.

A history aficionado, Mr McIntyre is looking forward to sharing his teaching experiences and knowledge in the classroom, thus creating an engaging and exciting learning experience.
