Echuca man pleads guilty to hit-run

By Riverine Herald

AN ECHUCA man pleaded guilty to three offences stemming from a serious hit-run that left a man hospitalised earlier this year.

Fairfax reported Joshua Abbott, 23, pleaded guilty in the Bendigo Magistrates Court this week to negligently causing serious injury, failing to stop and render assistance, and driving while disqualified.

A 39-year-old man was hit by a motorcycle on a walking track between Campaspe Esplanade and McKenzie Street, Echuca.

He was airlifted to Melbourne with life-threatening injuries.

Abbott will appear in County Court at a date later this year.

He remains in custody.
