ECHUCA police are appealing for information into the theft of a vehicle which was found burnt out in Banyule State Forest earlier this week.
The Mitsubishi Triton ute was stolen from the driveway of a Hovell St home about 6.30am Monday before being found burnt out in the forest at the end of Hovell St about 8am after someone reported it.
‘‘It is completely destroyed,’’ Detective Senior Constable Bernadette Waddington of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said.
‘‘We don’t have any suspects at this stage but we’re making inquiries.
‘‘We urge anyone who knows anything about this to come forward.’’
Police are also investigating the theft of two registered Yamaha trail bikes from a Tongala property overnight Saturday.

A MAN has been charged over a string of burglaries in Echuca on the weekend.
Mayes Tyrepower in Mundarra Rd as well as Bunnings and Neil’s Transport in Ogilvie Ave were broken into overnight Saturday.
It is understood tools were stolen and fencing was damaged at Neil’s Transport and a vehicle was tampered with.
A 25-year-old Echuca man has been charged with two counts of burglary, being unlawfully on premises, going equipped to steal and theft.
He has been bailed to appear in Echuca Magistrates Court on June 26.
