POLICE are looking for four firearms stolen in a burglary in Echuca on the weekend.
Thieves entered a shed at a Wanera Court property between 8pm Friday and 12.30pm Saturday before breaking open a gun safe and taking off with three rifles and one shotgun.
The guns were all registered and stored correctly.
‘‘Obviously it’s a concern for us as we don’t like guns out in the community in the wrong hands,’’ Detective Senior Constable Stuart Poulton of Campaspe Criminal Investigation Unit said.
Big W in Echuca was also broken into between 8pm Saturday and 8am Sunday.
Offenders smashed a window at the front of the shop and stole a couple of softdrink cans.
‘‘They caused about $2000 damage for a couple of dollars worth of Coke,’’ Det. Snr Constable Poulton said.
Police are appealing for help to solve the crimes and urge anyone with information to come forward.
People can contact Echuca police on 5483 1500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
