VICROADS says it is prioritising its rehabilitation and resealing project with several key routes in and around Echuca in the ‘‘top list for action’’ this summer.

VICROADS says it is prioritising its rehabilitation and resealing project with several key routes in and around Echuca in the ‘‘top list for action’’ this summer.

‘‘This includes parts of the Murray Valley Hwy, the Echuca-Mooroopna Rd, and the Northern Hwy, which forms part of the major gateway into Echuca,’’ a spokesperson said.

‘‘Over the coming months, VicRoads will be doing more pavement work than we have done in decades to boost the safety and reliability of local roads.’’

Most works will occur between September 2017 and April 2018, when warmer, dryer weather allows new road surfaces to cure.

VicRoads will continue to monitor the road network and undertake maintenance activities as required until the more permanent works are completed.

West of Echuca, a two kilometre section of the Murray Valley Hwy at Wharparilla will be completely rebuilt to make it more reliable for the region’s grain and fruit producers.

Additional major rehabilitation works will occur on Echuca-Mitiamo Rd, Echuca-Mooroopna Rd at Wyuna East, and on Prairie-Rochester Rd.

At the completion of these projects, any temporary reduced speed limits currently in place will be removed.
