POLICE are appealing for information into a burglary at a Lockington property where a firearm was stolen.

POLICE are appealing for information into a burglary at a Lockington property where a firearm was stolen.

Echuca detectives are investigating the incident which saw thieves steal a Boito shotgun after forcing a safe at an O’Brien Rd property between 7am last Thursday and 2pm on Sunday.

Detective Sergeant Brendon Murphy said he believed it was a targeted attack as the shotgun was the only item stolen. ‘‘It’s really concerning because of the type of item that was stolen as we don’t want it in the wrong hands.’’

‘‘Anyone with information about who may have taken the shotgun or its whereabouts now, we would be interested in hearing from them,’’ Det. Sgt Murphy said.
