THE spotlight will be put on Echuca next week when a leading expert in business innovation and business incubators arrives in town.

Committee for Echuca Moama recently secured the event, Innovation Leaders Roundtable — Spotlight on Echuca, which will discuss the latest digital and innovation trends across Victoria and Australia.

C4EM chief executive Martin Szakal said it was exciting as it would help frame current and future business development opportunities for the area.

‘‘We have secured Taylor Tran from ‘Innovation Co-working’ who will be delivering more than sixteen events across Victoria under the Victorian Government’s Digital Innovation Festival,’’ he said.

‘‘He will be asking key questions including; what is digital innovation and how can it help cities and towns like Echuca-Moama? How do we build a vibrant ecosystem for our community by exploring innovation and job creation? What is co-working and what are the latest trends across Victoria, Australia and the world? What does the future of work look like and how does this play out in a regional/metro context?” Mr Szakal said.

C4EM is still waiting on the outcome of their Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Funding application, which would deliver a scoping project exploring the opportunities, challenges and benefits from the development of a business incubator/hub/hot desk facility.

‘‘The project is called ‘Hot Desx’,’’ Mr Szakal said.

‘‘The Moama Bowling Club has also committed funding toward this project if the application is successful.

‘‘We have had strong interest in ‘HotDesx’ and we are seeking locals and others who wish to understand more about what the project is, and what it aims to deliver, to attend this event.’’

The event is hosted by C4EM in partnership with Bendigo Kangan TAFE Echuca between 12pm-1pm on Wednesday August 30 at the Tafe. A light lunch and refreshments will follow.
