AN ECHUCA woman’s decision to ride a motorcycle to work has cost her more than $1300 in fines.

Epenesa Misty Chookoon, 22, pleaded guilty in Echuca Magistrates Court on Tuesday to unlicensed driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and failing to wear a motorcycle helmet.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Dave Rennie said police stopped Chookoon on Sturt St about 3.45pm on May 30.

Checks revealed she was not licensed to ride a motorbike and the bike was unregistered.

Representing herself, Chookoon told the court she was going to work because she had no car.

Magistrate Michael King fined her $1200, plus $119.90 in court costs, without conviction.
