Echuca’s CFA gets $80,000

The CFA Deakin Group received $63,558 for a compressor with fill station, two storage cylinders and fill speed control and another $18,268 for a 20kVA generator, concrete pad and installation (including crane hire).

Cohuna Fire Brigade received $24,799.09 for materials and labour for a kitchen renovation, Leitchville Fire Brigade $19,542 for a generator, canopy enclosure, electrical wiring for installation and a trailer to house the generator, while Pyramid Hill Local Command Facility $24,726.16 for a standby generator.

The funding is part of the Victorian Government’s $15 million Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability Grants program.

Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said the grants would help emergency volunteers in the crucial work they did in keeping the community safe.

‘‘I encourage all volunteer brigades and units in northern Victoria to visit the Emergency Management Victoria website and apply for future grants,’’ he said.
