A WOMAN who drank seven vodkas before getting behind the wheel of her car has been fined and disqualified from driving for 10 months.
Chelsea Bier, 20, appeared in Echuca Magistrates Court to plead guilty to drink driving.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Dave Rennie told the court Bier was intercepted at 2.40am on February 18 on Alfred Ave, Echuca.
‘‘Police intercepted the vehicle where the accused was unable to produce her P2 licence. They came to the conclusion the accused was under the influence of alcohol and took her to Echuca Police Station for a breath analysis,’’ he said.
‘‘The accused recorded a reading of .107 when she made admissions of consuming seven standard drinks.
‘‘When asked why she drove, the accused answered she had to move her car.’’
Magistrate Michael King said it was a high reading and in the early hours of the morning.
‘‘The reality of it is that you had no right or entitlement to go any where near the wheel of a car,’’ he said.
Mr King then convicted her and disqualified her and fined her $750.
