EARLY works to upgrade the notorious intersection at Warren St and Murray Valley Hwy will start in the next few weeks.
Almost two years after the previous Coalition Government announced VicRoads would upgrade it to a major roundabout as part of preliminary works to Echuca-Moama’s second river crossing.
Roads and Road Safety Minister Luke Donnellan visited Echuca today to announce the preliminary works that he said would pave the way for the second Murray River crossing to be built.
Twelve people have been injured at the intersection in the past five years.
The upgrade will remove three dangerous ‘Y’ intersections, making it safer and easier for people to get around.
Preliminary works on the site will include field surveys, ground testing, geotechnical investigations, and discussions with landowners nearby.
